Management of High-Risk RCA Insured Persons

As of February 10, 2023, the new “BAAR Policies and Procedures for Managing RCA Insurance for High-Risk Insured Persons” entered into force, approved by A.S.F. through approvals no. 419/22.11.2022 and no. 37/09.02.2023, in accordance with Law no. 202/2022 for amending and supplementing Law no. 132/2017 and A.S.F. Norm no. 18/2022 for amending and supplementing A.S.F. Norm no. 20/2017 regarding motor insurance in Romania.

You are classified as a high-risk policyholder if:

→ you have received at least 3 valid insurance offers from different RCA insurers;

→ the offers are calculated for a 12-month insurance period and represent the total insurance premium obtained by adding the net premium (excluding distribution costs) to the distribution costs related to the sales channel used, without including the direct settlement service and without additional clauses or coverages;

→ all total insurance premiums from the received offers, calculated as above, are higher, at the date of issuance, than the reference tariff for the vehicle.
