AXERIA IARD
With over 29 years of experience in the French insurance market, AXERIA has successfully completed the establishment process for its Romanian branch, obtaining favorable approvals from both the French supervisory authority (ACPR) and the Financial Supervisory Authority of Romania.
Evolution in the auto insurance market
April 2021
AXERIA IARD was fully acquired by the Watford Holdings Ltd group, with the ownership transfer finalized in April 2021.
November 2021
In early November 2021, Watford Holdings and Watford Re were rebranded as Somers Group Holdings and Somers Re, with the “A” rating reaffirmed by the international rating agency AM Best.
This transaction, through which AXERIA IARD became part of the Watford Group, marked a significant milestone in the company’s evolution, positioning AXERIA within a strong and dynamic international group. Through this acquisition, the Watford/Somers group continues its expansion strategy across the European insurance market in the post-Brexit context.
The Somers Group (formerly Watford) has been present in the Romanian market since 2018 and, through AXERIA IARD, continues to provide insurance solutions to Romanian clients, confirming its long-term commitment to a market with strong growth potential.
2021
AXERIA IARD continues its strategic partnership with INTARO, providing specialized services nationwide, particularly in claims handling and portfolio administration, using advanced IT solutions. One of AXERIA IARD’s core objectives remains the fast and fair compensation of its clients.
Through its operational structure for policy issuance and claims handling, and through partnerships with insurance brokers and its local partner INTARO, AXERIA IARD positions itself close to its clients, offering simple and fast access to its services.
